Care Instructions

Every pair of BOSABO are handmade, start to finish, under one roof in France. As such, each pair has natural variations in color, wood grain and construction. We do not consider these variations as craftsmanship errors - instead, it's what we love most!

With the proper care, you should be able to enjoy your clogs & sandals for years. Please see below for tips on keeping your pair in great condition.

LEATHER

We are proud to say that all of our leathers are manufactured in Europe (France, Italy, Spain) by heritage tanneries.

Veggie dyed leather : This kind of leather will darken with time for a vintage aspect. You can use shoes polish (it's always a good idea to test a small patch before application of any chemical protector). If you have water stains on the leather, we recommend to uniformly moist the upper, let dry and polish.

Others smooth leathers : You can use shoes polish (it's always a good idea to test a small patch before application of any chemical protector). If you have water stains on the leather, we recommend to uniformly moist the upper, let dry and polish.

Pony hair leather, suede leather : You can use an all-natural horsehair brush and buff the dirt away. Depending on the climate you live in and the amount you expect to wear your clogs, a suede protectant spray can be used. If you get a stain on the nubuck, we suggest taking them to your local cobbler to better understand your options.

Old metalic leather, miror leather, reptil leather : You can use a soft cloth to clean this upper. Metallics are to be treated slightly more delicately as the film can rub off with contract. Avoid frictions and touch with chemical products.

Patent leather : You can use a damp sponge to clean.

FABRIC

Jean fabric, glitter fabric : You can use a damp sponge and soap.

Cork sole, rope sole: You can use a damp sponge and soap. To dry, we recommend to leave the shoes in a dried and warm environment - do not leave the shoes too close to a heater or in bright sunlight.

Wooden sole : You can use a damp sponge and soap. The natural wooden base can be lightly sanded back to remove marks and dirt. You’re welcome to re-wax with any all uncolored, natural wood wax, beeswax or wood sealer.

If the outsole rubber falls off, please do not wear your clogs. As wood is soft, it will wear down quickly and become irreparable. Please take your clogs to your local cobbler. Any cobbler will be able to replace the outsole rubber.

Please note that we do not accept returns on clogs that have been chipped. Our clog bases are made of solid wood, and, if struck against a hard surface with sufficient force, will chip. This is the nature of wooden bases, not a material defect. Your local cobbler can fix chips and cracks easily to keep your clogs in great shape for years. We also recommend leaving the shoes in a dried environment - do not leave the shoes too close to a heater or in bright sunlight to offer a better life to your wooden sole.

We hope you enjoy your new BOSABO purchase!
